Dancing With Darcy by Addison Avery

Garrett is in the closet. He hasn't acted upon his cravings for other men and since he hasn't connected intimately with a man, he's not gay, but things are about to change.
Garrett holds tight to a bitter-sweet memory of Darcy, his dead high school sweetheart. Her ghost leads him home for the holidays and straight into the arms of his best friends.
Sam and Logan are committed life partners. Garrett is familiar with their sexual preferences. He wants to explore a relationship with them but he's hesitant to make the first move. Admittedly, he's attracted to both men, and truly believes Darcy's ghost wants him to find comfort in their arms.
When Garrett returns home for the holidays, he's eager to revisit a past he once left behind. Sam and Logan offer him their couch but their southern hospitality extends far beyond what he ever imagined. Once Garrett discovers what goes on under their mistletoe, he is hooked and the best he can hope for is an open invitation to stay.

The background listed above is more than you’ll get in the story. All I got from the story was that they lived/worked on a farm/ranch, Darcy was a ghost, and Garrett wants to be gay but doesn’t want to disappoint Darcy’s ghost, especially since she’s watching most of the time. That being said, it’s not a bad story. Some of the background needs to be filled in or spaced out but the story itself is of a gay man who wants to be gay but can’t because of his fears. His friends openly accept him and teach him to accept himself.
I haven’t read strictly gay material before this. Usually I read books with multiple partners, erotic romance, or just plain romance…but this was new for me…and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t any different from anything else I read except that it has men instead of women. I liked it and would be willing to read it again. Well done Addison Avery.
I liked the romance and the insecurity of Garrett and the willingness to just love him by the other two men, Sam and Logan. That sounds like ANY relationship. It wasn’t easy for him to overcome his fears but by the end he did and I felt happy for him.
In the end I am rating this book 4 stars. It was good and it drew you into the characters and made you want them to have a happy ending. My only problem is that the book was very short, probably 50-75 pages. Otherwise it was a good book.
