necessarily in the kitchen when a former porn star turned rancher unknowingly
hires his proper ex-girlfriend to cater his weekend party.
Levi Kelly has finally agreed to end his yearlong
self-imposed isolation. He hires a caterer and invites his friends over for a
super bowl party. The caterer’s assistant shows up who is his ex-girlfriend.
There is a storm and the roads become impassable due to snow…the girl is still
there. Levi Kelly has to deal with his ex-girlfriend the entire weekend, until
the snow lets up. Natalie Andrews finds herself in the perfect position. Stuck
with Levi and given a chance to prove how sorry she is.
The conflict of the plot is that Levi was a porn star during
his college days and it came back to haunt him while he was playing
professional football. Natalie had everybody wanting her to react in a
different way and she shut down and left. She left Levi to fend for himself
during the fallout and now (a year later) he hasn’t exactly forgiven her.
Luckily they get past that real quick and decide to enjoy the weekend having
sex.
This story is another Tasty Treats story. It starts with
Levi feeling sorry for himself and Natalie getting the brunt of his anger. Good
thing there is major chemistry between these two because listening to them
bitch at each other gets old real quick. Soon enough they are playing strip
monopoly. Works for me because it gets smutty real quick after that ;)
This is a good story because the sex is great. There is some
BDSM stuff but it doesn’t cross the line into that world. Not really. There is
a scene that sounds exciting and very painful at the same time when Levi
strikes a whip across her clit. She loves it so it’s not that bad but imagining
the pain doesn’t make it enticing to anybody who doesn’t like whipping.
There are some interesting writing skills. “They glowed like sun rays on a mirror.”
This was in reference to his eyes. Definitely noteworthy but it doesn’t detract
from the story at all.
There is a double identity thing going on in the story that
is fun to read. Levi was a porn star before and his name was Cowboy Long Dong.
Natalie gets him to act out scenes from his porn movies. She doesn’t tell him
until the end that she is the erotic romance writer Mia Lange. She gets him to
act out one of the scenes from her book before she finally tells him. It makes
for a happy ending because she had been watching his movies for the year and he
had been reading her books. A line that stuck out and seemed ironic was “Besides it was good book research.”
It’s ironic because I can just imagine an author going to a porn set to act out
scenes just to get good research.
Overall this book was good. The sex was good and edgy. It
was something new and yet it still felt connected to the other books in the
Tasty Treats series. At the end I give this book 4 stars.
