Syren Song by Blaze Ballantine

Welcome to Gypsy Cay, an archipelago of 200 islands inhabited by every paranormal being known to mankind. Humans are invited to visit Gypsy Cay by day, but for thrill seekers, the island comes alive at sunset. Designated areas of the archipelago are deemed unsafe for mainland (human) visitors. Strict rules for obeying the laws of each species are posted at the boundaries of individual territories. Remember, human customs are left behind on the mainland. Gypsy Cay is a paranormal community and, therefore, is ruled as such. Nightlife on Gypsy Cay is sometimes dangerous, always wild, and definitely for adults only. Enjoy your stay!

The Syren is Enlora. She’s the singer down at Syren’s Song one of the bars on Gypsy Cay. She’s destined to be mated to Kai, one of the ocean guardians (a shark). A man (human) comes into the bar and needs her help. Enlora can’t help herself. She’s drawn to this man. Between Kai and the human, all of her needs are met.
Seriously this book is very strange and yet perfectly in harmony with itself. I love Blaze Ballantine’s idea that there is an island, or rather a string of islands, which is home to most of the world’s supernatural creatures. The creatures there are able to get along perfectly fine…as long as they follow the rules.
There is a lot of sex in this book and for being between a siren, shark, and human it’s pretty hot. There is a murder plot. While none of the characters actually kill the person, they are ultimately responsible. Then there is more sex.
Anal plays a big part in this book and if someone is new to anal then this book is worth reading. It describes a lot of the processes in which a person must or possibly should, go through in order to have a great anal sex experience. Plus I personally found it arousing.
In the end I give this book a 3.5. There are lots of good points but the actual plot seems to be lacking a little bit.
